The yellow irises are growing slowly in all the damp places, it will be a good few weeks before they flower but it’s good to see them and anticipating spring and warmer weather. See the same spot on the 13th January Same puddle but slightly different angle 🙂
A lovely quiet day, weather excellent, calm and settled but pretty cold. Today’s photo is the culvert down the road, looking south, the hilltops of Barra can be seen in the very distance.
Lovely to be home and it was good to sleep in my own bed. Slowly got some sorting out done, conscious that I have to be careful not to overdo things.
Went for a short walk and was surprised at all the signs of spring appearing 🙂 Weather lovely but cold.
Up early and left the apartment by twenty to eight. A good drive over to Ullapool – still snow on the hills but I suppose it is still only February! We arrived there just after 9am so time to pop to the Ceilidh Place for coffee (and Ian had a black pudding roll for a second breakfast).
The ferry journey seemed long 4.5/5 hours but at least it was lovely and calm. I slept a little, read my book and ate my packed lunch. Arriving in Lochmaddy on time and then the next 50 mile drive to home – I have to say the roads were bumpier than on the mainland and I was pretty worn out by the time I got home. Nothing an early night won’t fix. It’s great to be home and the neighbour had popped round and put some heaters on for us 🙂
Our last day at Ardeseir so we had some errands to run. First of all off to the big Tesco on the outskirts of Inverness to stock up on shopping – especially things we can’t get on the island! Later on we did some packing ready for leaving tomorrow.
Today’s image is bit of an abstract, it started with a photo of me looking out into the dark night.
Headed into Inverness to meet my friend, my first time out in the car for a week, things are feeling much more comfortable than a week ago. We had coffee at the great cafe in the TISO store in Inverness and afterwards mooched about looking at the outdoors stuff, treated myself to a long-handled spork plus got a wee gift for my daughter’s birthday later in the month 🙂

I’ve been managing to walk daily, trying to go just a tiny bit further each day, while also trying not to overdo things. Today I walked along the shore then cut through Ardeseir Common. So very different to the terrain at home, it was lovely to be in the trees and I was thrillled to find these snowdrops.
What is not to love about fresh flowers, MrT bought these for me for Valentine’s Day and they are still looking really fresh. Weather pretty horrible outside today so my photo of the day is an indoor shot 🙂
We’re really enjoying being here at Dolphin Bay Suites, the apartment has absolutely everything we need for our stay and is warm, cosy and very comfortable plus we love the view from the window. The owners are very friendly and helpful.
