Feeling OK, I definitely haven’t got the covid as bad as MisterT, i’m feeling a bit tired and washed out and still a bit bunged up but nothing too significant. I was being very gentle with myself and sat most of the afternoon and crocheted.

Day 85 / 365 – Photo a Day Project 2023
Not feeling too bad, mostly a very annoying bunged up nose which is worse at night. I’m hitting the “garlic/lemon concoction” hard so I expect I stink haha – probably a good job i’m still in the spare room… Photo is my morning drink – overnight I steep an organic green tea bag and an organic Hibiscus tea bag in 500mls of cold water, in the morning I squeeze the juice of an orage and the juice of a lemon into it and add one tablespoon of Braggs apple cider vinegar, I drink this before breakfast and I also take vitamin D3 (in a spray form), I’ve been having this daily since returning home from having my op.

So, there you have it, I joined the covid club, a positive test, I feel a bit rough, not too bad though – everythings a little bit: a little bit of a headache, a little bit of a sore throat, a little bit of a snuffly nose, a little bit tired and achey but otherwise OK.

Not much doing today, Ian still feeling rough, i’m ok so far, a hint of a sore throat but testing negative for covid. I had a trip down to the post office to post a customer order – I wore my mask to go in, just in case… Beautiful late afternoon light…
Day 82 / 365 – Photo a Day Project 2023
Ian tells me he had a rough night and doesn’t feel much better. His covid test this morning is positive, hopefully he’ll soon be on the mend… We’ve managed to avoid this for the last three years, thankfully we’ve both had all our vaccines/boosters. I really don’t want this thing though, i’m only just over five weeks post-op and not sure how well my body will be able to fight it off. I think it’s inevitable that i’ll get it though 🙁
Day 81 / 365 – Photo a Day Project 2023
Ian has felt dreadful all day, he got up late, was only up for three hours, had lunch and went back to bed all afternoon – most unlike him, I’ve never known him to take to his bed before, he’s never ill, usually has the constitution of an ox. I tested him for covid this evening and it’s still negative. I don’t understand how he can feel so awful and not have it.
Meanwhile i’m still trying to do the best I can to avoid it, juicing fresh veg, taking my supplements and i’ve decamped down to the spare room, though it’s probably too late…
Day 80 / 365 – Photo a Day Project 2023
At lunchtime headed to Am Politician in Eriskay for my birthday lunch, we took Seonaid, Bill and Norma were also supposed to be coming but last Thursday Bill came down with the covid and at the weekend Norma started testing positive too 🙁
A lovely lunch was had by all – this place is consistently good and the staff are fab.
In the evening Ian started feeling unwell with a sore throat and a”funny” head. He’s testing negative for covid.
Day 79 / 365 – Photo a Day Project 2023
Yay, my order of dehydrated ready meals for taking camping later in the year arrived today – I love these Firepot ones, not only are they vegan but the ingredient list is great, just good, proper dehydrated food, no additives or other rubbish. (They do do meat ones too). The only thing i’ve found with them is to add the boiling water and leave for 30 minutes, not 15 as per the instructions.
I’ve bought the organic, vegan flapjacks to try, i’ve not had them before.
Day 78 / 365 – Photo a Day Project 2023
My birthday today! Also the birthday of a very special person – my oldest daughter – born on my 24th birthday 🙂 All these years it’s been lovely to share our special day.

An early birthday present to myself – new swim boots and gloves – I really cannot wait to get back into the water once i’m fit again after my op 🙂
